Come and learn the basics of silversmithing! Facilitators Fern (@aeonandfern) and Rho (@clarityartifacts) are silversmiths with a combined 7 years of experience. Each participant will bring home a handmade piece of work. All materials and tools provided, no experience needed! 

These workshops are a safe space for trans, queer and people of colour communities. Fern (any pronouns) and Rho (she/they) are both trans people with lived experience of disability. Fern is a proud Koorie person.

Learn how to silversmith

Wednesday 19th October, 2022, 1 – 6:30pm, Maker Community Inc, 70 Saxon St Brunswick

Come and learn the basics of silversmithing including soldering, sawing, filing, measuring, sanding and polishing. Each participant will have the opportunity to make a simple silver band.

All materials and tools provided, no experience needed! 

Bring closed toe shoes and a natural fibre apron (some available)

These workshops are a safe space for trans, queer and people of colour communities. 

The workshop is accessible at a ground floor level however the bathroom facilities have a narrow entrance and tight turning circle.

 

Your facilitators

Fern (any pronouns) and Rho (she/they) have a combined 7 years silversmithing experience between them, and are both trans people with lived experience of disability. Fern is a proud Koorie person.

 

Workshop cost

$100 full price

$80 for MCI members

$50 concession (full time student, seniors or healthcare card)

4 grams of silver included per workshop participant. Any extra used at $2/ gram.
